Golf Performance, Movement & Fitness Coach
● TEAMHunter Gathright
Hunter Gathright is a partner at Gathright Golf and brings a deep background in both golf instruction and performance-based fitness to the team at River Crossing and Sweetwater.
A past San Antonio City Champion, Hunter combines his knowledge of the golf swing with advanced movement training to help golfers improve performance, move more efficiently, and reduce their risk of injury. His coaching approach is built around the belief that better movement creates a better golf swing—and better results on the course.
A Modern Approach to Golf Instruction
Hunter’s specialty is connecting golf mechanics with safe, functional movement. Rather than treating fitness and swing instruction as separate pieces, he helps players understand how the body moves throughout the swing and how improved mobility, stability, and sequencing can translate directly into better performance.
This integrated approach gives Gathright Golf students a more complete path to improvement—helping them build speed and efficiency without sacrificing the fundamentals of a sound golf swing.
Credentials & Training
Hunter Gathright, a Level 3 GOATA Movement/TPI Certified Coach and License Massage Therapist, leads the group instruction and fitness/recovery program for Gathright Golf. Hunter’s program at Sweetwater was recognized in 2022 & 2023 by the Golf Fitness Association of America as one of the Top 20 Golf Fitness Programs in America.
Over the past several years, he has helped develop the movement concepts that Gathright Golf incorporates into its instruction programs. His work has supported golfers at every level—from beginners building a foundation to competitive and professional players looking to maximize speed, consistency, and longevity.
Co-Inventor of TRUSpeed Golf
Hunter is also the co-inventor of the patented TRUSpeed Golf training aid. Developed alongside his business partner, TRUSpeed combines overspeed and underspeed training with pliable-tip technology to provide feedback throughout the entire swing.
The result is a training tool designed to help golfers increase swing speed while maintaining efficient mechanics. By pairing higher-speed training with proper movement and swing fundamentals, golfers can pursue more distance and better performance with a reduced risk of injury.
